Kynheim is a DeviantArt-based canine ARPG set in a dystopian future where humans have been driven to the brink of extinction and wildlife has taken over the world in a ruthless battle. Among the many species returning to their prehistoric roots, several bands of wolves compete for power, territory and bare survival.
This group contains mature, sensitive and potentially disturbing topics. As we strictly cater to an adult audience, joining is restricted to participants 18 or older.
Dystopian Future
Centuries have passed since the peak of human existence. No soul remaining in this world has memory of a healthy society; of electronic devices working or of cars running. Stories about World War III tell the tale of civil strife and unrest greater than one's own imagination, a tale of the human species' suicide.
Prehistoric Animals
With the world's main apex predator gone, populations of other species recovered. But nature didn't stop there. To make sure no tragedy comparable to the mass-slaughtering conducted by humans would ever repeat itself, animals began changing, unknowingly reverting back to forms they hadn't held in millennias.
Crossbred Wolves
A century-long hybridization left wolf populations with individuals nearly indistinguishable from wolfdogs. Domestic dogs have gone extinct due to their lack of biological fitness, but certain traits persist even up until now. Wolves have undergone a number of changes over the years, leaving the species more diverse than ever.
Humans and Objects
Humanity has retreated from Kynheim into small, more easily protectable camps in the far west. Villages, towns and cities stand abandoned and have been for decades. Houses, cars and streets have been mostly destroyed, are overgrown and only very loosely remind of the flourishing human societies of the past.
